Cloud Application Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

This role serves as the lead for all cloud infrastructure request. Request can be for on premise and cloud design builds. Work involves building and maintaining all cloud systems projects while also providing high level technical support. Resources to do the job require understanding of cloud platforms (Azure and AWS).

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management (60%):
1.) Provides engineering consulting and recommendations for all new Cloud systems to ensure the interoperability and adherence to Multiplan technology standards and policies of all systems
2.) Serves as lead for cloud group projects as well as internal IT and business driven initiatives
3.) Builds, develops, and manages technical solutions on Cloud
4.) Defines and monitors multiple project priorities and provides technical and administrative supervision; ensures appropriate management is apprised of operational status of projects
5.) Provides appropriate cloud resources for business applications; performs capacity planning, workload modeling/prediction, and purchasing recommendations for new cloud solutions; provides business applications enough resources for their short-term and long-term growth
6.) Documents all projects deployed and ensures cross-training to team members is completed

Technical Support (40%):
7.) Experience provisioning, configuring and maintaining cloud computing services such as Azure and AWS
8.) Serves as local expert on Azure Active Directory and manages additions, changes or deletions to the tree structure and group policies as necessitated by the business environment
9.) Engineering, automating, and orchestrating system provisioning and maintenance processes using modern cloud tools and technologies
10.) Understanding the needs for new initiatives to build scalable, distributed and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions on Azure and AWS
11.) Collaborating with solutions architects
12.) Performing system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support while innovating to automate as much as possible
13.) Installing configuring, maintaining, and supporting applications and servers in public cloud environments
14.) Performing operating system and software application installation, patching, and upgrades
15.) Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
16.) Provides a current, well-managed operating environment for production processing and application development
17.) Troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system of fully documented issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution
18.) Provides support on all systems to meet departmental Service Level Agreements
19.) Provides support for business continuity by ensuring daily backup schedules are completed and provides cloud or on-site support for annual disaster recovery test

20.) Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.

JOB SCOPE:

The incumbent works independently and relies on past experience to complete job responsibilities. The incumbent possesses an extensive range of knowledge of practices and procedures within the field and acts a resource for less experienced team members. Work is varied and complex.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is 125k-150k. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
