Legal Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory compliance filings applicable to the organization (for both MultiPlan and in support of MultiPlan's clients) meet the established regulatory requirements and are filed accurately and on time. This position will act as Business Analyst (BA), as well as Project Manager (PM). As a Business Analyst, this position will require the application of best practices to facilitate the elicitation, organization and documentation of business requirements related to regulatory filings, working with members of assigned MultiPlan business units. For purposes of Project Management, this position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating efforts between a number of operational areas within the organization, as well as with the regulatory compliance departments of MultiPlan's clients, when applicable.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively manage all regulatory filings (for both MultiPlan and in support of MultiPlan's clients) to ensure regulatory filings are accurate and on schedule.
2. Maintains primary responsibility for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing all regulatory compliance filing activities, including development of project plan and timetable with identified roles and responsibilities for each task.
3. Calculate, mitigate and monitor risk, creating contingency plans and advising management, as appropriate.
4. Develop work plan for each regulatory filing and prepare executive summary for management review.
5. Actively solicit, analyze and document regulatory filing requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the regulatory filing needs, and establish and maintain agreement between assigned MultiPlan business units and project teams on the deliverables required to meet the regulatory filing requirements. Track and resolve issues by proposing viable solutions.
6. Manage multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders. Manage relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management.
7. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
8. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws relating to securities, healthcare, data privacy and security (including HIPAA), and government programs.
9. Demonstrate commitment to the Company's core values.
10. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data -- this role is considered to be a High Risk Role.

JOB SCOPE:

This individual works under supervision and with a moderate amount of discretion to make decisions that affect the day-to-day operations within the Company. The successful candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision. The incumbent follows established procedures and uses knowledge of the Company's general business principles, to complete job responsibilities. Work requires basing decisions on sound logic and rationale; advancing problems or issues toward resolution when encountering ambiguity or uncertainty; choosing the best alternative based on consideration of pros, cons, tradeoffs, timing and available resources; making timely suggestions for decisions on problems and issues requiring immediate attention.

Job Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):

* Minimum Bachelor's degree
* Knowledge of Healthcare industry preferred
* Minimum two (2) years' experience as a BA and/or PM; BA and health care industry experience preferred
* Knowledge and experience designing and implementing best practices project management methodologies and requirements definition and management practices
* International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred
* Experience in a Project Management Organization preferred
* Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable
* Expert-level business and system analysis
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Analytic, organization, interpersonal, prioritization, multi-tasking, initiating, communication, planning and technical skills
* Ability to take initiative and suggest solutions to problems
* Ability to use software and peripherals related to performance of job responsibilities
* Ability to facilitate teams and client relationships to satisfy needs and identify improvements
* Ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management
* Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow through
* Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects including continuous evaluation and re-ordering of priorities for self and staff as business needs dictate
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers
* Ability to be flexible and creative in problem solving and identifying process improvements
* Ability to anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mind-set
* Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods of time, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000/year.  Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity.  This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
