Job Requirements of Application Architect (hybrid):
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, and Training):
You are well-versed in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to launch and continuous improvement. Specifically, you have expertise in:
- Backend: Java, Python, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and ETL processes.
- Frontend: React.js or Next.js; experience in developing responsive UIs.
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or OCI for hosting, storage, and serverless architecture.
- Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Delta Lake, Redis.
- Business Intelligence: Tableau or Power BI
- Security: oAuth2, SAML.
- Architectural Design: Strong foundation in cloud-native, creational, and behavioral patterns.
- DevOps tools: CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating AI-driven tools like ChatGPT or Gemini for conversational interfaces is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including 2+ years in an architect role.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $140K - 150K. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Software Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining solutions that empower employers and insurance advisors to gain insights into their health plans, make data-driven decisions, and optimize plan design. This role blends architectural expertise with hands-on coding, requiring you to define system architecture, enable seamless integrations, and develop software.
You are a versatile engineer who effortlessly switches between front-end excellence, back-end mastery, and infrastructure optimization. Your superpower lies in designing scalable, high-performance architectures while actively contributing to development and creating intuitive, user-centric solutions.
This hybrid role requires you to be in Bedford, MA or Naperville, IL office twice a week!
DUTIES:
As a technical expert and collaborative team player, you will work alongside specialists in product management, user experience, software development, and more to drive innovation. Your contributions will include:
- Creating solution architecture to address complex problems at scale, considering technical and business factors and the trade-offs between immediate requirements and a long-term vision for a clean and maintainable design.
- Helping drive complex technical projects from planning through execution.
- Experimenting with new technologies and creating prototypes for the development teams.
- Empowering distributed and remote development teams with framework implementations, knowledge sharing, and sustainable practices.
- Leading the development and adoption of strategy, frameworks, best practices, and patterns for the software development organization.
- Nurturing engineers to think with architecture and design best practices in mind, including aspects such as performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
- Promoting and driving innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
