Payroll Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: The role challenges the incumbent to regularly compile payroll data from time sheets and other records. The incumbent will be tasked with preparation of payroll through the use of automated systems to ensure accurate calculations, data integrity, recovery of overpayments, and compliance with regulations

Payroll Specialist


JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Routinely execute record keeping and payroll processing activities for exempt and nonexempt employees.
2. Process wage garnishments, child supports & tax levies according to established standards.
3. Handle payroll related customer inquiries in an effective and accurate way, ensuring all inquiries are addressed and/or resolved within a set service level agreement.
4. Create and prepare payroll reports and special management request reports.
5. Research payroll issues or special projects as needed.
6. Perform biweekly reconciliation processes and associated analyses of payroll and related accounts
7. Reconcile errors and ensure accuracy of payroll records.
8. Enter personnel transactions to the system of record in an accurate and timely manner
9. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
10. Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data and records.
11. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
12. Demonstrate commitment to the Company's core values.
13. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data -- this role is considered to be a High Risk Role.

JOB SCOPE:
This role works under general supervision and relies on established guidelines and experience to complete job responsibilities. An incumbent applies a broad range of knowledge of policies and procedures as well as knowledge gained through experience to solve problems.

Job Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):


* Minimum completion of High School curriculum (diploma or GED)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a payroll processing role with use of an automated payroll system such as ADP enterprise or a similar platform, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field would be considered in lieu of experience
* Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable
* Knowledge of payroll accounting and account reconciliation processes along with related practices and payroll processing principles
* Knowledge of state and federal payroll laws and regulations
* Knowledge of general accounting processes such as but not limited to vouchers, general ledger, etc.
* Knowledge of internal control procedures and processes as related to payroll
* Customer service, interpersonal, analytical, attention to detail, and problem resolution skills
* Ability to use software, hardware, and peripherals related to responsibilities of job, including MS Office
* Ability to perform arithmetic calculations
* Ability to adjust/alter workflow to meet deadlines
* Ability to process complex verbal and written instructions and translate them into a series of logical problem solving steps
* Ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a time sensitive environment
* Ability to work in a team and independently
* Ability to interact with internal and external contacts to exchange or obtain information.
* Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods of time, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone.

The salary range for this position is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour. Specific offers take into account a candidate's education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate's work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
