JOB SUMMARY

Independently creates and delivers advanced learning and performance related solutions, events and programs aimed at developing complex skills, knowledge and experience that significantly improve talent performance and results. Leads complex projects and team(s) responsible for consulting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions in partnership with department leadership, resources, and business teams.

Work Location: This is a remote position with onsite work at our McLean, VA office as needed.

 

DUTIES

  1. Leads in the build of defined learning and performance solutions, performance support initiatives, etc., using instructional design methodologies, department practices, following the training project life cycle.
  2. Conducts needs analysis with business partners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify performance needs and root causes, recommending sophisticated learning solutions, resources and defining deliverables.
  3. Partners with department leadership to establish effective, innovative and scalable learning solutions designed to broaden complex skill sets and build experience at various levels, reinforcing a strong team and business culture to achieve desired performance results.
  4. Builds strong partnerships for collaboration and accountability of agreed upon deliverables outlined in agreements and discussions, ensuring effective and efficient learning and performance solutions.
  5. Establishes criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs based on desired outcomes, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  6. Initiates plans and executes learning and performance solutions, including troubleshooting efforts, resolving pre, on-site and post program activities to execute a safe, professional and productive program in a cost-effective manner, working with department team members, as needed.
  7. Applies techniques in learning solutions and delivery to address diverse needs and ensure an inclusive environment conducive to learning for all participants.
  8. Monitors and analyzes program metrics for trending, defines and presents recommendations for enhancements.
  9. Creates marketing and communications, presentations and other materials tied to programs and solutions, ensuring effective distribution and delivery to multiple employees and management levels within the organization.
  10. Develops, manages and maintains repeatable processes and procedures tied to learning and performance solutions to create sustainable programs, including measurement and reporting for both new and existing programs and solutions to recommend improvement and innovative opportunities.
  11. Strategizes for opportunities to replicate solutions that could benefit a broader audience.
  12. Independently identifies and recommends strategies, industry trends and learning and performance methodologies. In addition, stay current with instructional design and industry best practices in order to recommend new authoring tools, media and digital learning techniques.
  13. Leads special projects as required. Provides mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering their professional growth and development within the department. Leverage productivity by coaching and learning from others within Talent teams and across the organization.
  14. Collaborates, coordinates, and communicates across disciplines and departments.
  15. Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  16. Demonstrates Company’s Core Competencies and values held within.

JOB SCOPE:

The incumbent works independently, but may still operate under limited supervision to complete job responsibilities. Work is complex. The incumbent possesses and applies a range of advanced business, performance and training knowledge gained through experience or education practices and procedures to complete the job responsibilities. The incumbent adheres to established guidelines and applies their experience to resolve issues that may be complex and escalates more complex issues to higher levels. Leads and directs the work of others on project teams.  Work is complex requiring innovative independent decision making to identify and choose the appropriate course of action and solutions. 

 

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $85-105K.  Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity.  This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree or High School diploma plus four years of experience in a related field
  • 8 years experience in learning & development, organizational development or other related fields
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles, learning styles and instructional design methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Company’s operational and general business practices desired
  • Must have a big picture focus in both departmental and company strategy
  • Strong ability to be proactive and use independent judgment
  • Strong ability to work and learn independently as well as part of a team (depending on a program’s requirements)
  • Strong ability to collaborate within customers to achieve satisfactory outcomes that align with corporate priorities
  • Strong ability to adapt to changing work priorities, assignments, and schedules
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to utilize problem solving and process improvement skills to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong ability to utilize live and web-based facilitation skills
  • Strong ability to motivate, communicate, instruct, and train others, using both technical and non-technical language to explain industry specific topics and processes
  • Strong ability to use software, hardware and video technology related to job responsibilities, including but not limited to MS Office Suites, Outlook, Power Point, WebEx, SharePoint, Brainshark, etc.
  • Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods of time, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone.
